Our Mission: To Educate Pet Professions and Pet Parents on Animal First Aid & CPR

Courses are led by Lisa Herbold, a veterinary technician and groomer whose worked with animals for over 30 years.

About Us

Alpha Dog Education was founded on the belief with more knowledge about how to treat a pet during a possible emergency, the better the chances for the animal to survive.

Pets are no longer considered just property: they are family members. Our goal is to keep our four-legged family members safe and with us for as long as possible.

Lisa Herbold – Program Head, Lead Instructor

Lisa’s experience began in a small animal hospital as a receptionist and technician assistant. Her job soon expanded to include the responsibilities of a technician, and even dog grooming. Lisa went on to earn the title of International Certified Master Groomer, and soon became an award-winning competitor!

As a participant in grooming competitions, Lisa also taught grooming to other students, and even managed a pet salon. Lisa has worked in and managed grooming salons and taught in two grooming schools. Besides grooming, she still returns to her roots in veterinary medicine, often moonlighting at various veterinary clinics.

She has worked in traditional veterinary practices as well as specialty medicine and working the majority of time in emergency medicine. Lisa has taught in the NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant Program at Harper College for seven years.
